New Pilot Transfer Equipment Rules For New Zealand Ports
New Zealand ports have introduced new stricter pilot transfer equipment requirements for visiting vessels.
The new rules, which come into force on the 1st May will require all vessels to ensure the following requirements are met;
- Maximum age of pilot ladders shall not exceed 24 months from date of manufacture
- Maximum age of manropes shall not exceed 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Any vessel not complying with these requirements will not be receiving a pilot and may incurr costs/delays as the individual port sees fit.
With the Fathom Safety Pilot Ladder Management Service such worries can be a thing of the past. We take care of ensuring your entire pilot transfer arrangement is compliant and that your crew are adequately trained. Our Ladder Sentry software manages the entire fleets ladders and associated equipment as well as storing all certificates, images of the pilot boarding arrangements and gives a visual representation of the vessels compliance level.
